This volume is the proceedings of the Linking and Interpretlng Spectra through Molecular Structures Conference, which was held at the University of Warwick in September 1996.
Developments in computing have always been rapid and the four years since the previous meeting, Networking of Spectroscopic Instruments and Spectroscopic Data, have been no exception. Today, data processing is integral to an analytical instrument and data are now available electronically in copious quantities, while software that handles molecular structures is accessible to all laboratories. It is, therefore, inevitable that analysts and chemists want to combine both sets of data. Thus, this meeting focused on these developments, with the emphasis on the management of the information and on the interpretation of the spectra.
