Applications of mass spectrometry to proteomics
This special issue of EJMS is published jointly with the new journal Proteomics. It is intended that the issue captures the state-of-the art with regard to analysis of peptides, proteins and their modifications by mass spectrometry, as it is applied to the broad field now referred to as "proteomics". The issue covers the analysis of proteins and peptides separated by 1D/2D gel- or capillary-electrophoresis and also non-gel approaches (e.g. chromatography-based). It will contain articles on methodological developments as well as innovative applications. The Editor-in-Chief of Proteomics is Dr Michael J. Dunn of the National Heart and Lung Institute, Heart Science Centre at Harefield Hospital, Middlesex, UK. The special issue is being edited jointly by Dr Scott Patterson from Celera Genomics and Professor Peter Derrick from the University of Warwick. Peter is obviously known to readers of European Journal of Mass Spectrometry as one of its founders and the current Editor-in-Chief. Scott is one of the Senior Editors of Proteomics. Details of the papers published in this special issue can be found here. |
